You can't attend every party, so why even try?

When you’re trying to select a social media site to expose yourself and your business, think of it as if you’re in NY and there are tons of social events going on all around you. Obviously you can not attend every single party. The same goes when you’re selecting social media sites. There are tons of then, and you simply can not create an account and actively participate in every single one of them. Start off with a few parties to attend and make it great.
Once you’ve arrived at the party, you noticed that there are countless great conversations going on all around you. You’re very excited and you want to introduce yourself and meet everyone. However, by meeting every single one, you run into the risk of having worthless, short, superficial conversations with people that will forget about you the instant you leave.
The same goes when you’re taking part in a social media site. Introducing yourself via a link to your website, and not doing anything beyond that will make people keep scrolling down, and forget your post was even there. Instead; engage with groups related to your industry and their users. Even though they might be a few, make sure your presence is well known to them, and you’re able to exchange ideas for mutual benefit.
Since you can not attend every single party in the city, which will you attend? Do your research beforehand and select the ones that match your buyer persona and that you will, over all, benefit the most out of. Remember, Since you can not attend every party, make sure you enjoy those that you do!.
