NYC Cabs might get iPads

Big changes are coming to the way you ride in New York City in the near future!

A pilot program proposed by Square, a mobile payment company based in San Francisco, is looking to replace taxi television with iPads or other tablet computers.  If the proposal is approved by the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission, it will allow passengers to play games and pay for their taxi ride, rather than watching news segments and countless ads.

A formal presentation by square is scheduled for March 1.

This new concept for the way you ride in New York City has brought excitement on both passengers and drivers.
Taxi drivers are excited to save an estimate 2.25% on credit card transactions fees with the implementation of ipads, and passengers are saying they're more than happy that they will be saving batteries on their own devices.

How do you think these changes will shape NYC?
